Gas Bearing Technology

Gas bearing technology has been used in all series of Lihan cryocooler, which provides a robust, compact and highly reliable support for moving components, including the compressor pistons and displacers. Through gas bearing technology, non-contact relative movement between the piston and cylinder is realized to ensure long lifetime operation of the cryocoolers.

Oscillating pressure in the working space is rectified to generate high pressure in the reservoir, typically embed in the piston. As the high pressure gas flows through the peripheral throttling holes or surfaces, a stable high pressure gas film is formed on the surface of the piston to prevent its contact with the cylinder.
